I have the honour to invite reference to the

Colonial Secretary's note No.601/1915 of 20th February, 1928, addressed to the Registrar of Companies, Shanghai, enclosing copy of a letter to the British American Tobacco Co. (China) Ltd., in which it was stated that it was proposed in their case and in the case of their associated companies to make the reduction in the annual China Companies fee effective in

respect of the year 1927.

A refund of $54,324.33 is due to the Company under this promise and I enclose a draft (first of exchange)

for this amount.
